USA Ditches India

USA has voted Canada though India hoped to get US support in selection of Mr. P. Chidambaram, Indian Finance Minister as the head of the International Monetary Fund. In the past too India failed to ensure Indian candidate Mr. Shashi Tharoor as UN Secretary General to replace Kofi Anan only because in the eleventh hour USA opted for South Korean candidate Mr. Ban Ki Moon.

It is US style of diplomacy to motivate India in their favour or is it Indian weakness and lack of talent to recognize the real desire of USA?
Americans always give preference to those lines of actions which ultimately goes in favour of America. They know how to praise and when to condemn India. We Indians may forget the prestige of our own country while making flattery and polishing other Nations. But American’s eagle eye is always pointed towards the ego, prestige and status of America. They are true patriot and they know how to keep other nations under pressure and influence of USA led policies. They always pretend as the best friend of India, but never like to displease Pakistan. In the past too we have seen how USA has supported Pakistan‘s line of action at the cost of India.

They praise Indian democracy but shamelessly praise, and extend financial as also military help to Musharaf and his country Pakistan. World knows very well that Pakistan support Terrorism directly or indirectly, does not believe in democracy and is firm supporter of Islam in Governance . Still Pakistan gets support in International forums very easily not only by USA but also by other countries under the influence of USA.

In this way Pakistan gets preference from both Islamic countries and countries under the influence of USA. On the contrary, USSR the traditional supporter of India after disintegration has become weaker. As such on all issues in international forums India more often than not, find itself in weaker position especially in comparison to Pakistan. But it is astonishing that USA preferred supporting Canada (when Pakistan was no where in picture directly) to India and that too after assuring Indian Candidate all the way. This should raise Indian eyebrows and India should ponder over the quality of relations with USA seriously. We cannot imagine of going away from USA but still try to understand the real motto of USA all the time on all the issues.

Our foreign policy was influential during the regime of Mr. Jawahar Lal Nehru and it assumed more power during the almost two decade regime of Late Smt Indira Gandhi and India was front runner in Non-alignment Movement. Unfortunately India inspite of all its best efforts failed to achieve considerable success on foreign issues even after sacrificing Indian interest. Even on the matter of nuclear deal with India, our experts (particularly from Left Parties) doubt the integrity of USA and apprehend that our freedom in use of nuclear power will be limited by USA with the help of Hyde Act. India did not sign on Non- Nuclear Proliferation Treaty (NPT) but will become victim of nuclear deal in disguise as NPT as soon as nuclear deal with USA is operationalised.

Neither USA fully supports India, nor does Russia wholeheartedly support Indian line of action. Even the countries which were behind India during Non Alignment Movement are slowly going away from India.
It is worthwhile to mention here that on domestic front India leaves no stone unturned to appease Muslims in the country .And USA from the core of its heart does not like to do so. It is only strategic compulsion which forces USA to support Pakistan. Otherwise it is only India which may be the best and suitable friend for USA.

Our strong faith in Non-violence, secularism, democracy and our real love for peace are praised by many foreign nations. Still we fail to achieve success as per our potential. Our leaders are not behind in flattery and yesmanism to powerful Nations of the world but they are not getting true love. Because leaders are busy in their vested interests and seldom get time to ponder over national issues seriously.

Why so?
